iQOO has revealed the phone’s new rear design and confirmed a major upgrade to its zoom camera.

iQOO has revealed the design and colour option of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the iQOO 16. The phone is confirmed to launch in China later this month alongside the iQOO Pad Ultra tablet.

The new smartphone features a redesigned rear camera module. iQOO has also teased up to 100x digital zoom, marking a major camera upgrade over its predecessor.

iQOO 16 Gets Redesigned Camera Module

The iQOO 16 keeps a flat rear panel similar to the previous model. However, the company has made major changes to the camera island. The three camera lenses sit inside a square-shaped deco with a raised outer boundary. iQOO describes the design as a “robotic arm” layout, based on a translation from Chinese.

The camera arrangement forms what the company calls a “navigator” symbol. The phone will also feature a glass rear panel with a new “hexagonal tech pattern”.

At least one colour option has been confirmed for the phone. The Light Chasing finish appears similar to the Apex Edition offered with the iQOO 15.

100x Zoom Teased

An image shared by iQOO shows the words “100x tele lens” inside the rear camera module. This confirms that the phone will support up to 100x digital zoom.

The iQOO 16 will use a triple rear camera setup. It will include a primary camera, an ultrawide camera and a periscope telephoto camera. The phone also gets a flat metal mid-frame. The power and volume buttons are placed on the right side, while the LED flash sits outside the camera deco.

Snapdragon Chipset And Gaming Features

The iQOO 16 will also focus on gaming performance. The company has confirmed a new gaming chip and its next-generation Monster Super Engine.

The smartphone will be powered by a new Snapdragon 8 Elite series flagship chipset. iQOO says the device will offer console-like ray tracing effects and improved visual quality.

The iQOO 16 is scheduled to launch in China at the end of this month. The company is expected to reveal more details about the smartphone as the launch approaches.
