Audi has started assembling the new Q3 in Maharashtra ahead of its India launch, with design, technology and practicality updates.
Audi India has started local assembly of the all-new Q3 at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The compact luxury SUV is scheduled to launch in India on October 16.
The start of production comes ahead of the festive season. Local assembly is expected to support timely deliveries once the new Q3 reaches the Indian market.
Audi Q3 Gets 2.0-Litre Turbo-Petrol Engine
The India-spec Audi Q3 will use a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine. It produces around 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque.] The engine will be paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Audi’s quattro all-wheel-drive system will also be offered as standard. While global markets get several powertrain options, India is expected to receive only the turbo-petrol version.
Sharper Exterior Design With New Lighting
The third-generation Q3 gets a sharper exterior design compared with its predecessor. A larger Singleframe grille takes a central position at the front. The SUV also gets slimmer headlamps placed higher on the front fascia.
Its Matrix LED headlamps use micro-LED modules, with each daytime running light featuring 23 individual segments. At the rear, the Q3 gets a full-width lighting bar. Higher variants will also feature digital OLED tail lamps and illuminated Audi rings.
Q3 Interior Focuses On Space And Flexibility
Audi has made several changes to the cabin layout of the new Q3. The gear selector has been moved to the steering column, creating more storage space on the centre console.
A separate stalk now operates the lighting and wipers. The dashboard also gets Audi’s latest digital interface, while acoustic glass for the front windows is designed to reduce cabin noise.

The rear bench can slide forward and backward. Its backrest angle can also be adjusted, allowing passengers to balance rear legroom and luggage space.
Boot Space And Towing Capacity
The new Audi Q3 offers 488 litres of boot space in its standard configuration. This increases to 1,386 litres when the second-row seats are folded. The sliding rear seat adds further flexibility for passengers and luggage. Depending on the variant, the Q3 can also tow up to 2,100 kg.
New Driver Assistance And Safety Features
The updated Q3 also receives changes to its electronic systems. An interior camera can monitor the driver for signs of fatigue and distraction. The adaptive cruise control and lane-assistance systems also gain additional functions. Audi’s parking system can store and replay complex parking manoeuvres. This feature can be useful for drivers who regularly park in the same tight garage or location.
Audi Q3 India Launch Date
Audi India has confirmed that the new Q3 will launch in the country on October 16. Local assembly has already started at the company’s manufacturing facility in Maharashtra.
