The new adventure motorcycle gets an 890cc V2 engine, updated off-road hardware and a Rally variant.

Ducati has opened bookings for the new DesertX V2 in India ahead of its official launch. The Italian motorcycle brand announced the development through its social media channels. The updated adventure motorcycle is expected to reach showrooms in the coming weeks.

The new model was unveiled at EICMA 2026 for international markets. Ducati has not yet announced its India launch date or official price. However, its expected price is around Rs 19-20 lakh (ex-showroom).

Ducati DesertX V2: Engine and Performance

The second-generation DesertX gets a new 890cc, 90-degree V2 engine. The same engine platform is also used in models such as the Panigale V2 and Monster V2.

The engine produces 110.3 hp at 9,000 rpm and 92 Nm of torque at 7,000 rpm. It comes with a six-speed gearbox, retaining the same gear ratios as the outgoing model.

Compared with the earlier 937cc Testastretta engine, the new powertrain offers longer service intervals. Ducati has also updated the motorcycle’s platform to improve its off-road performance.

Ducati DesertX V2 Rally: What’s Different?

Ducati will also offer a DesertX Rally version alongside the standard model. This variant gets upgraded suspension and additional hardware for demanding off-road riding.

The Rally uses fully adjustable KYB suspension. Its 48mm front fork features a closed-cartridge design with Kashima and DLC coatings. Front wheel travel increases from 231mm to 249mm.

The rear suspension also gets a taller, adjustable monoshock. Ducati has further equipped the Rally with Excel Takasago centre-spoked tubeless wheels for improved strength on rough terrain.

Features and Electronics

The DesertX V2 continues with a 5-inch TFT display and cruise control. Its electronic rider aids include multiple riding modes, power modes and cornering ABS.

Other features include traction control, wheelie control and engine brake control. A bidirectional quickshifter is also available for smoother gear changes.

The Rally variant retains the monocoque frame and weighs 209kg without fuel. Its suspension and wheel upgrades focus on improving control during off-road riding.
