Citroen has introduced the Basalt X to its coupe-SUV range in India at an introductory price of Rs 7.95 lakh, ex-showroom. The new variant brings updated cabin styling and additional features over the top-spec Max trim.
Bookings opened on August 22, with customers able to reserve the SUV for a token amount of Rs 11,000. The Basalt X retains the engine options offered with the existing range.
Citroen Basalt X: Design and Exterior
The Basalt X keeps the existing Basalt design, with no major exterior changes. It features a new Basalt X badge on the tailgate to distinguish it from other variants.
The front retains the daytime running lights positioned above the headlamps. Its sloping roofline also continues to give the SUV its coupe-style appearance.
Citroen Basalt X: Interior and Features
The cabin receives several styling updates, including a slanted pattern on the dashboard and bronze trim accents. Citroen has also introduced tan and black upholstery, while leatherette covering adds a different finish to the dashboard.
One of the main additions is Cara, a conversational assistant developed by Citroen. It can provide real-time flight status updates, help adjust routes based on flight schedules, share vehicle health information and support multimedia functions.

Cara can also make calls, send SOS signals and set smart reminders. However, the assistant is available only in the automatic versions of the Basalt X Max.
Other features include ventilated seats, cruise control, keyless entry and push-button ignition. The SUV also gets white ambient lighting, LED fog lights and an auto-dimming interior rear-view mirror. A 360-degree camera is available as an option.
