The seasonal OTA update adds ghost-themed visuals, spooky sounds, festive lighting and interactive features for Model Y owners.

Tesla has introduced a Halloween Mode for the Model Y and Model Y L in India. The new feature arrives through an over-the-air (OTA) software update. It adds Halloween-themed visuals, sounds and interactive functions to the electric SUVs.

The update allows owners to enjoy seasonal features without visiting a service centre. Tesla has also made the experience available at its Experience Centers across India.

Tesla Model Y Halloween Mode: New Features

The Halloween Mode brings several festive changes to the vehicle. These include a ghost-themed design for the car’s in-app avatar. Owners also get a Halloween-themed light show, seasonal vehicle wraps and an exclusive lock sound.

The update introduces a Trick or Treat Mode as well. It activates spooky sound effects and flickering lights when visitors approach the vehicle. Another addition is the Photobooth feature. It allows occupants to capture Halloween-themed pictures directly through the car.

Tesla has also included a feature called Voice From Beyond. It allows owners to send voice messages through the Tesla app. These messages then play through the vehicle.

Tesla Model Y: Over-The-Air Software Update

The Halloween experience reaches customers through Tesla’s OTA software system. This technology allows the company to deliver new features and improvements remotely.

Owners do not need to visit a workshop for this type of update. Tesla can add software-based functions directly to compatible vehicles. Customers can also experience the Halloween update at Tesla Experience Centers across India. The feature adds a seasonal entertainment option to the Model Y range.

Tesla Switch and Save Carnival Extended Through Diwali

Alongside the Halloween update, Tesla has extended its Switch and Save Carnival through Diwali. The campaign offers additional benefits to customers considering a move to electric mobility.

The company is highlighting the Model Y’s running and maintenance costs. It wants potential buyers to compare electric vehicle expenses with petrol and diesel cars.

According to Tesla, customers can purchase the Model Y with a down payment of Rs 6 lakh. Monthly payments start at Rs 39,990 under a seven-year step-up EMI plan. The stated interest rate is 8.5 per cent.

Tesla Model Y: Claimed Fuel and Maintenance Savings

Tesla claims that Model Y owners can save around Rs 20,000 every month. This estimate compares its running costs with those of an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle.

The claimed savings come from lower fuel and maintenance expenses. These include costs related to fuel, engine oil, scheduled servicing and brake components.

The electric powertrain does not require engine oil changes or spark plug replacements. It also avoids conventional multi-speed transmission servicing.

The Model Y uses regenerative braking technology. This system helps slow the vehicle while recovering energy for the battery. It also reduces wear on brake pads and can lower long-term maintenance expenses.

With the Halloween Mode, Tesla is adding seasonal software features to its Indian electric SUV range. The company is also continuing its Diwali sales campaign with financing options and claimed ownership savings.
