The facelifted luxury sedan gets a larger grille, new digital screens and improved rear-seat features.
Mercedes-Benz is set to introduce the facelifted 2026 Mercedes-Maybach S-Class in India on October 5. The updated luxury sedan gets exterior changes, new cabin technology and revised powertrain options for global markets.
The new Maybach S-Class was unveiled globally earlier this year. Mercedes-Benz has also started production of the updated model at its Sindelfingen plant in Germany.
Mercedes-Maybach S-Class Gets Updated Design
The facelift retains the model’s signature vertical-slat Maybach grille. The grille is around 20 per cent larger and can feature an illuminated surround. An illuminated Mercedes star sits above the grille, while Maybach lettering adds another visual detail.
The sedan also gets revised headlights and tail-lamps with new star-themed lighting signatures. The Maybach emblem on the D-pillar can also be illuminated. New forged alloy wheels are offered in 20-inch and 21-inch sizes.
New Superscreen Layout Inside The Cabin
The biggest technology change comes inside the cabin. The updated Maybach S-Class gets the MBUX Superscreen, with a digital instrument display, central touchscreen and front-passenger screen. Mercedes-Benz says the latest model also introduces MB.OS and fourth-generation MBUX to a Maybach model for the first time.

The rear cabin continues to focus on passenger comfort. The rear seats can recline by up to 43 degrees and offer heating, ventilation and massage functions. Two new individual remote controls replace the earlier tablet-style controller.
Mercedes-Benz has also expanded its MANUFAKTUR personalisation programme. Customers can choose from more exterior colours, two-tone paint schemes and wider upholstery options. A leather-free interior option is also available in the global model.
Updated Powertrain Options
The international Maybach S-Class range includes electrified six-cylinder and eight-cylinder engines. The S 580 uses an updated 4.0-litre V8 that produces 537 hp and 750 Nm. The engine also uses mild-hybrid technology.
A plug-in hybrid S 580 e is available in selected markets. It combines a revised six-cylinder petrol engine with an electric motor and offers around 100 km of electric driving range under the manufacturer’s stated specification.
The S 680 remains the flagship version in selected markets. Its exact engine and output vary by market. Mercedes-Benz has not yet confirmed the final powertrain specification for the India-bound car.
India Price And Specification Yet To Be Confirmed
Mercedes-Benz India currently lists the Maybach S-Class from Rs 2.875 crore. The price shown by the company is subject to configuration and equipment choices.
Indian automotive publications currently list October 5, 2026, as the expected launch date for the facelift. Autocar India estimates a price of Rs 3.10 crore to Rs 3.20 crore, but this is not an official Mercedes-Benz India price.
The India-spec engine, variant line-up and final equipment list have not been officially detailed in the sources reviewed. Mercedes-Benz India is expected to provide those details around the launch.
For Indian buyers, the key details to watch will therefore be the final powertrain, price and equipment offered with the new Maybach S-Class. The updated model is scheduled to make its India debut on October 5, 2026.
