Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India has recalled 96 Rebel 500 motorcycles over a handle-lock fixing screw issue.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) has announced a voluntary recall for 96 Rebel 500 motorcycles in India. The affected bikes were manufactured between April 2025 and August 2025.

According to Honda, the recall involves the handle-lock fixing screw. The screw may not have been tightened to the specified torque during assembly. It could loosen over time and may affect steering movement under certain conditions.

Honda has stated that no related incidents have been reported in India as of September 30, 2026. The company will replace the affected handle-lock fixing screw free of charge.

Affected Honda Rebel 500 Units

The recall covers 96 Rebel 500 motorcycles made between April and August 2025. Honda will replace the handle-lock fixing screw on the affected motorcycles at no cost to owners. The repair will be provided regardless of the motorcycle’s warranty status.

When Will The Recall Begin?

Honda’s recall campaign will start in the first week of November 2026. The repair work will be carried out through Honda’s authorised BigWing dealership network.

HMSI will contact affected customers directly about the recall. Owners may receive phone calls, SMS messages or emails regarding the service campaign.

Honda dealerships will then coordinate with owners to schedule service appointments. The affected part will be checked and replaced as part of the recall process.

How To Check If Your Bike Is Affected

Honda has provided an online verification system for customers. Rebel 500 owners can use the Recall Campaign section on the HMSI website and enter their motorcycle’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN).

Owners whose motorcycles are covered by the campaign should contact their nearest Honda BigWing dealership. They can schedule an inspection and replacement through the dealership. The recall campaign is expected to begin in November 2026, with affected owners being contacted by Honda and its authorised dealerships.
