BMW M5 Touring Leads New Nürburgring Editions in India

BMW India has opened pre-orders for five special-edition M models, including the M5 Touring estate for the first time.

BMW India has opened pre-orders for its new 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition models. The special lineup includes the M2, M3 Competition, M4 Competition, M5 sedan and M5 Touring. Pre-orders are now available through authorised BMW dealerships in India.

The editions celebrate 100 years of the Nürburgring race track and BMW’s 21 victories at the Nürburgring 24 Hours. BMW has not disclosed the number of units planned for India, but the models are positioned as exclusive special editions.

BMW 100 Jahre Nürburgring Edition: What’s Different

The special editions feature a Nürburgring Green exterior colour. Inside, the cars get a Sapphire Black cabin with green contrast stitching. The cabin also features M carbon bucket seats and carbon-fibre trim. The M steering wheel follows the same special-edition design theme.

The India lineup includes the M2 xDrive, M3 Competition xDrive, M4 Competition xDrive, M5 sedan and M5 Touring. Each model combines BMW’s M performance hardware with the Nürburgring-themed design changes.

BMW M2, M3 And M4 Performance Details

The BMW M2 xDrive uses a 3.0-litre six-cylinder engine. It produces 473bhp and 600Nm of torque, with a claimed 0-100kmph time of four seconds.

The M3 Competition xDrive also uses a 3.0-litre inline-six engine. It develops 523bhp and 650Nm, while the 0-100kmph sprint takes 3.5 seconds. The M4 Competition is listed with 386bhp and 540Nm. It can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 4.4 seconds.

BMW M5 Touring Makes India Debut

The biggest addition to the lineup is the BMW M5 Touring. This marks the first time BMW is bringing the high-performance estate body style to India as part of this edition.

The M5 Touring uses a 4.4-litre V8 engine and produces 717bhp with 1,000Nm of torque. BMW says it can accelerate from 0-100kmph in 3.6 seconds. The M5 Touring is also a plug-in hybrid model. It uses an 18.6kWh battery pack along with a 60-litre fuel tank.

BMW M5 Sedan Also Gets The Special Edition

The BMW M5 sedan is powered by the same 4.4-litre V8 setup. It produces 717bhp and 1,000Nm of torque. The sedan has a claimed 0-100kmph acceleration time of 3.5 seconds. It joins the M2, M3, M4 and M5 Touring in the India-specific Nürburgring Edition lineup.

BMW India has not announced pricing or production numbers for these special editions in the information provided. Further details are expected through the company’s official dealerships.
