Subheadline: The updated Kawasaki Z900 retains its 948cc engine and existing features, while two new colour options refresh its appearance.
Kawasaki has launched the 2027 Z900 in India at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The new model retains the outgoing version’s price despite the revised GST structure. The update brings two new colour options, while the engine and mechanical components remain unchanged.
Deliveries of the updated motorcycle are expected to begin on October 29, 2026. The launch follows the introduction of the Kawasaki Z300, which serves as an entry-level model in the company’s naked sport motorcycle range.
Kawasaki Z900 2027: What’s New?
The 2027 Kawasaki Z900 is available in two new colour combinations. These include Ebony with Metallic Carbon Gray and Pearl Blizzard White with Plasma Lime Green. The white-and-green version features Kawasaki’s signature lime-green frame treatment.
The new shades replace the colours offered on the 2026 model. These were Candy Lime Green with Metallic Carbon Gray and Metallic Matte Graphene Steel Gray with Metallic Flat Spark Black. Kawasaki has not announced separate prices for the new colour options.
The motorcycle retains its existing design, including twin headlights, a muscular fuel tank and an exposed frame. Its sharp tail section adds to the sporty appearance. These design elements follow Kawasaki’s Sugomi styling approach.
Kawasaki Z900: Engine and Performance
The updated Z900 continues to use a 948cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine. It produces 124 hp at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. A six-speed gearbox handles power delivery to the rear wheel.
There are no mechanical changes for the 2027 model. The motorcycle also retains the electronic features introduced with the 2025 update. These include a 5-inch TFT display, smartphone connectivity and turn-by-turn navigation.

The electronics package also includes cornering-sensitive ABS, traction control, cruise control and a bi-directional quickshifter. The quickshifter allows riders to change gears without using the clutch for both upshifts and downshifts.
Ride Modes and Safety Features
The Kawasaki Z900 offers different ride modes that combine traction control settings with engine power delivery. Sport mode uses KTRC 1 with Full Power, while Road mode pairs KTRC 2 with Full Power. Rain mode combines KTRC 3 with Low Power.
These settings help riders adjust the motorcycle’s electronic assistance to suit different riding conditions. The system also allows individual settings to be adjusted independently.
Suspension, Brakes and Tyres
The 2027 Z900 retains its existing suspension setup. It uses an upside-down front fork and a back-link monoshock at the rear. Both units offer adjustments for rebound damping and spring preload.
Braking duties are handled by dual 300mm semi-floating discs at the front and a single 250mm disc at the rear. The rear brake uses a single-piston calliper. The motorcycle also retains its star-pattern, five-spoke wheels, now wrapped in Dunlop Sportmax Q5A tyres.
Kawasaki Z900 2027: Price and Availability in India
The updated Kawasaki Z900 is priced at Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom), matching the outgoing model’s price. The new colour options are the main changes for the 2027 version, while its engine, electronics, suspension and braking hardware remain unchanged.
Deliveries are expected to begin on October 29, 2026. Buyers can consider the new colour choices without compromising on the established engine and equipment package.
