Skoda Slavia Gets

The updated Slavia gets a new 8-speed automatic, more features and added cabin comfort while retaining its driving character.

The 2026 Skoda Slavia has received several updates to make the sedan more modern. The biggest change is the new 8-speed automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI engine.

Skoda has also added new technology, comfort features and small design changes. The 1.5-litre TSI continues with its 7-speed DSG gearbox and 150hp engine.

Skoda Slavia Gets Key Updates

The 2026 Slavia does not bring a major change to the sedan’s overall design. Instead, Skoda has focused on small updates across the exterior, cabin and powertrain.

The new automatic gearbox is the main mechanical change. At the same time, the cabin now gets more technology and comfort equipment on higher variants.

Skoda Slavia Design And Features

The updated Slavia keeps its familiar body shape but gets several styling changes. These include a revised grille, new LED headlamps and a redesigned front bumper.

The car also gets new 16-inch alloy wheel designs and updated LED tail lamps. Sequential turn indicators are now available at the rear, while select variants get a black strip between the tail lamps.

Skoda has also introduced three new exterior colours. These are Arctic Silver, Cappuccino Beige and Shimla Green. The 521-litre boot space remains unchanged, so the sedan continues to offer useful luggage space.

Inside, the dashboard layout remains familiar, but the equipment list has grown. Higher variants get a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation.

The new 25.6 cm touchscreen system offers built-in connectivity, an app store and an AI assistant powered by Google Cloud. Wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and wireless charging are also available.

Higher variants also get electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats. The Prestige and Monte Carlo versions add a rear-seat massage function. Select variants also offer a 360-degree camera and an eight-speaker sound system with a subwoofer and amplifier.

Skoda Slavia Drive Experience

The biggest driving change comes with the 1.0-litre TSI engine. It continues to produce 115 horsepower and 178 Nm, but it now works with an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.

The engine offers enough performance for regular city and highway driving. City overtakes feel fairly easy, while highway speeds do not make the engine feel overly stressed.

The new gearbox is also smooth during normal driving. There is a very small pause between some shifts, but it does not affect the overall driving experience.

The 1.5-litre TSI remains unchanged mechanically. It produces 150 horsepower and 250 Nm and continues with the 7-speed DSG gearbox. The larger engine remains the more performance-focused option. It offers stronger performance when driven harder and should appeal to buyers who enjoy an engaging drive.

The Slavia also retains its familiar steering and handling characteristics. The steering provides useful feedback, while the predictable handling gives the car confidence through corners.

Fuel efficiency, however, remains a consideration. Neither engine is particularly economical when drivers regularly use the available performance.

Skoda Slavia Verdict

The 2026 Skoda Slavia focuses on useful changes rather than a complete redesign. The new 8-speed automatic makes the 1.0 TSI a smoother automatic option for everyday driving.

The 1.5 TSI continues to offer stronger performance with its familiar 7-speed DSG. Meanwhile, the updated cabin brings more technology and comfort features to the sedan.

The exterior changes are limited, but they help distinguish the updated model. Features such as ventilated front seats, rear-seat massage and the updated infotainment system also make the cabin more appealing.

Skoda has not yet announced the price of the updated Slavia. Pricing will be an important factor when buyers compare the refreshed sedan with its rivals. For now, the updated Slavia keeps the driving character of the existing model while adding several useful features and a new automatic option.
