Kia India has opened bookings for three new powertrain options across its premium MPV range.
Kia India has opened pre-bookings for the Carens CNG, Carens Clavis CNG and Carnival Limousine Hybrid. Bookings are available through the company’s authorised dealer network in India.
The new variants bring factory-fitted CNG and hybrid powertrains to Kia’s three-row MPV range. However, Kia has not yet announced prices or exact launch dates for these models.
Kia Carens and Clavis Get Factory-Fitted CNG
The Carens CNG and Carens Clavis CNG will use Kia’s G1.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine. Both models will come with a six-speed manual gearbox and a factory-fitted 60-litre CNG tank.
The move is significant because CNG versions were previously available through dealer-fitted systems in some locations. The new models will instead receive the CNG system as part of the factory-built package.
Kia has made several changes to suit the CNG powertrain. These include CNG-specific engine calibration, revised suspension tuning and 16-inch wheels. The changes account for the added weight of the CNG tank and aim to maintain predictable driving and braking behaviour.
The CNG models will also feature a dedicated fuel-change switch. This will allow drivers to select petrol or CNG operation while driving.
A 4.2-inch colour TFT multi-information display will show CNG Distance-to-Empty, or DTE. This feature will help drivers track the estimated driving range available on CNG.
Third-Row Seat Update
Kia has also revised the third-row seat-back frame in the new models. The change improves the available recline angle for passengers in the last row.
This update could be useful for buyers who regularly use all three rows. Rear-seat comfort can be an important factor for families travelling longer distances.
Carens CNG Variants For Private and Commercial Buyers
The standard Carens CNG will be available in the Premium (O) G1.5 6MT specification. Kia is also preparing an M-Drive G1.5 6MT version for business-to-business and commercial mobility customers.
The Carens Clavis CNG will be offered in HTE and HTE (O) G1.5 6MT trims for private buyers. A Clavis HTM G1.5 6MT variant is also planned for fleet and commercial users.

These CNG versions will join the existing petrol and turbo-diesel powertrain choices. The Carens Clavis is also available with an all-electric powertrain, giving buyers several options within the same three-row MPV range.
Kia Carnival Hybrid Bookings Also Open
Alongside the CNG models, Kia has opened bookings for the Carnival Limousine Hybrid. It will be offered in the Limousine+ G1.6T HEV 6AT specification.
The Carnival Hybrid will use a turbo-petrol strong-hybrid powertrain with a six-speed automatic transmission. It will add an electrified petrol option to Kia’s premium MPV range.
The new variant is listed with 18-inch Crystal Cut dual-tone Aero alloy wheels, Active Air Flaps and a Virtual Engine Sound System. Kia will also offer a Smart Pure Air Purifier with an air quality index display.
Other listed features include retractable and height-adjustable seatback tables. These tables will have integrated wireless charging. The model will also get monotone ambient lighting, cup holders and leatherette door trims.
What These New Kia MPVs Offer
The new powertrain choices expand Kia’s three-row MPV portfolio in India. The factory-fitted CNG models focus on buyers seeking an alternative fuel option, while the Carnival Hybrid adds an electrified petrol powertrain.
For commercial and fleet users, Kia is also offering selected CNG variants. This gives the company a wider range of options across private, business and commercial mobility needs.
Kia has not yet revealed the prices or confirmed launch dates for the new variants. Further details on pricing, availability and deliveries are expected to be announced by the company.
