Porsche India has launched the all-electric Cayenne in India on September 30. The SUV is offered in two variants, Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric. Customer deliveries have also started.
The Cayenne Electric is priced at Rs 1.77 crore ex-showroom. The Cayenne Turbo Electric costs Rs 2.27 crore ex-showroom. Porsche will continue to sell petrol-powered Cayenne variants alongside the electric models into the next decade.
Porsche Cayenne Electric Performance And Powertrain
The standard Cayenne Electric uses Porsche’s E-Performance powertrain. It has electric motors on both axles and a 113 kWh Performance Battery. The model makes up to 408 hp and can produce 442 hp with Launch Control.
The Cayenne Electric can accelerate from 0-100 kmph in 4.8 seconds. Its top speed is electronically limited to 230 kmph. The Turbo Electric delivers 1,156 hp and 1,150 Nm of torque.
The Cayenne Turbo Electric reaches 100 kmph from a standstill in 2.5 seconds. It has a top speed of 260 kmph and a claimed range of 623 km. Both variants get adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management as standard.
Range And Charging Details
The Cayenne Electric has a claimed WLTP range of up to 642 km. Its 113 kWh battery supports DC charging at up to 390 kW. Porsche says the battery can charge from 10 to 80 per cent in about 16 minutes under ideal conditions.
The SUV can add 290 to 324 km of range in 10 minutes at maximum DC charging power. Its 22 kW AC onboard charger can complete a full charge in about 5.75 hours with a compatible wallbox.

The Cayenne Electric is also the first Porsche model in India to offer an optional 11 kW wireless charging system. The system uses inductive charging technology.
Design And Practicality
The electric Cayenne keeps the brand’s familiar SUV shape with a revised front end. It gets a blanked-off grille, active aerodynamic vents and Matrix LED headlights. The headlights feature Porsche’s four-point daytime running light design.
The SUV measures 4,985 mm in length, 1,980 mm in width and 1,674 mm in height. It has a 3,023 mm wheelbase and is slightly longer than the petrol-powered Cayenne.
The SUV also offers 90 litres of storage in the front trunk. The rear boot holds 781 litres and can expand to 1,588 litres with the powered rear seats folded. Towing capacity is up to 3,000 kg with the Performance Battery and 3,500 kg with the Offroad Package.
Interior And Technology
Inside, the Cayenne Electric gets Porsche’s curved 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen in India. It also has a fully digital instrument cluster. Buyers can add a 14.9-inch passenger display and an augmented-reality head-up display.
Standard equipment includes eight-way electric front seats, four-zone automatic climate control and ventilated front seats. The SUV also gets a sliding panoramic roof and wireless smartphone charging of up to 25W.
Driver assistance features include ParkAssist with 2D Surround View, Lane Change Assist and Intersection Assist. Other systems include Warn and Brake Assist, Swerve and Turn Assist, and Speed Limit Assist.
The SUV also offers Comfort Access with ultra-wideband technology. It supports keyless entry and automatic locking, along with gesture-controlled tailgate operation.
Porsche Cayenne Electric Rivals In India
In India, the Cayenne Electric will compete with electric SUVs such as the Audi Q8 e-tron, BMW iX and Lotus Eletre. Porsche has started customer deliveries from September 30.
