The upcoming flagship will use Qualcomm’s new 2nm chipset, while a gaming phone is also reportedly planned for India.
OnePlus has confirmed that the OnePlus 16 will use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. The flagship is expected to launch in China soon. OnePlus is also reportedly working on a new gaming smartphone for the Indian market.
OnePlus 16 Chipset Details
OnePlus confirmed the chipset in a post on Weibo. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 is an octa-core processor built on a 2nm process. It has three efficiency cores, three performance cores, and two prime cores.
The chipset can reach a peak clock speed of 5.0GHz. OnePlus will pair it with the “Wind Chaser Gaming Kernel”. The company says this setup can support gaming at up to 185 frames per second.
The company is expected to share more details at the OnePlus Game Conference 2026. The event is scheduled for September 28 at 10:00 am local time, or 7:30 am IST.
OnePlus 16 Performance Details
A smartphone with the model number PYB110 has also appeared on the AnTuTu benchmarking platform. TheTechOutlook reported that this model is the OnePlus 16.

The phone reportedly scored 53,84,433 points in the overall AnTuTu test. It scored 14,58,283 points in the CPU test and 20,10,584 points in the GPU test. The listing also showed Android 17, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
For comparison, the OnePlus 15 scored 36,35,346 points on an earlier AnTuTu version. Benchmark scores can vary between software versions and test conditions.
Design And Storage Options
OnePlus has already revealed the design and colour options of the upcoming phone. The handset is listed for pre-order through the Oppo China online store.
The phone is listed in three colour options. These are Tomorrow’s Star, Martian Masterpiece, and Dark Forest, based on translated Chinese names.
The OnePlus 16 is expected to be available in four memory and storage combinations. These include 12GB + 256GB, 12GB + 512GB, 16GB + 512GB, and 16GB + 1TB.
New OnePlus Gaming Phone Reportedly In Works
Separately, tipster Ashok Mor, known as @_techibee on X, has claimed that OnePlus is planning a gaming-focused phone for India. The reported device could include an RGB light setup and an active cooling fan.
The phone is also claimed to use Android 17-based ColorOS 17. OnePlus has not provided official details about this reported gaming smartphone in the information available here.
