Kawasaki India has launched the 2027 Vulcan S cruiser at Rs 8.23 lakh, ex-showroom. The new model costs Rs 10,000 more than the 2026 version. Deliveries are set to begin in mid-September 2026.
The 2027 Vulcan S gets a small engine update and a new colour. Kawasaki has also revised the brake disc sizes. Most of the motorcycle’s engine, suspension and features remain unchanged.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S: Engine
The cruiser continues with a 649 cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine. Its peak torque is now 62.4 Nm, up from 61 Nm on the 2026 model. This restores the torque figure used on the 2024 version.
Peak power remains around 59 hp. Kawasaki has not changed the rpm figures for peak power and torque. The engine continues to work with a six-speed gearbox.
The small torque gain should give the motorcycle a slightly stronger mid-range response. This could be useful during overtakes and relaxed highway cruising. These are common riding situations for a cruiser of this type.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S: Hardware
The braking hardware has seen a change for 2027. The front brake disc now measures 272 mm, compared with 300 mm on the 2026 model. The rear disc has also been reduced from 250 mm to 216 mm.
Dual-channel ABS remains the only electronic rider aid. The motorcycle does not get riding modes or traction control. Other advanced electronic systems have also not been added.

The suspension setup remains the same as before. Up front, the Vulcan S uses a 41 mm telescopic fork with 130 mm of travel. At the rear, it gets a linkage-type monoshock with 80 mm of travel and adjustable preload.
The motorcycle has a 705 mm seat height. This low seat can make the cruiser easier to approach for shorter riders. Ground clearance remains at 130 mm, while kerb weight stays at 235 kg.
2027 Kawasaki Vulcan S: Features
There are no major changes to the feature list. The Vulcan S continues with an analogue-digital instrument cluster. It shows speed, rpm, fuel level, gear position and trip information.
The motorcycle does not get a TFT display or Bluetooth connectivity. It also continues without a ride-by-wire throttle. The focus remains on its established mechanical package and cruiser design.

The biggest visual change is the new paint option. The 2027 Vulcan S is available in Metallic Carbon Gray with subtle bluish-green highlights. It replaces the earlier Metallic Flat Spark Black colour. The new finish adds a slight green tone to the motorcycle. The Vulcan S continues with its low-slung cruiser design and relaxed riding position.
For Indian buyers, the 2027 update brings limited but specific changes. The restored torque figure is the key mechanical update, while the new colour changes its appearance.
