The new flagship smartphone gets a 2nm Snapdragon chipset, triple cameras and up to 1TB of storage.
iQOO has launched the iQOO 16 in China as its latest flagship smartphone. The handset was unveiled alongside the new iQOO Pad Ultra and will go on sale in October.
The smartphone comes with a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display and a large 8,400mAh battery. It also gets a triple rear camera setup, up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
iQOO 16 Price And Availability
The iQOO 16 price starts at CNY 5,999, which is roughly Rs. 86,000. This price is for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant. The 12GB + 512GB model costs CNY 6,799, or about Rs. 97,000. The 16GB + 512GB version is priced at CNY 7,499, while the 16GB + 1TB model costs CNY 8,499.
The handset will go on sale in China through the Vivo online store in October. It will be available in Chasing the Light, Legend and Racing Track colour options.
2K AMOLED Display With 165Hz Refresh Rate
The iQOO 16 features a 6.85-inch 2K AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,440 x 3,168 pixels. The panel uses Samsung M16 luminescent material and supports a refresh rate of up to 165Hz.
The display offers 508 ppi pixel density and supports 1.07 billion colours. It also gets up to 2,800 nits peak brightness in HBM and a 5,000Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate. The phone also uses AR anti-reflective film and LEAD display technology. It carries IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
Snapdragon Chipset And Gaming Hardware
The iQOO 16 is powered by Qualcomm’s 2nm octa-core Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme chipset, according to the supplied specifications. The source lists a peak clock speed of up to 5.01GHz.

The phone also gets a proprietary Q4 gaming chip and an Adreno GPU. It supports up to 16GB of LPDDR5x Ultra RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage. For thermal management, iQOO has used an upgraded vapour chamber cooling system. The heat dissipation area is rated at 8,500 sq mm.
Triple Rear Camera Setup
The iQOO 16 has three cameras on the rear. The primary camera uses a 50-megapixel sensor with an f/1.68 aperture and optical image stabilisation.
The setup also includes a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. It supports up to 100x digital zoom. A 50-megapixel ultrawide camera completes the rear camera system. For selfies and video calls, the phone gets a 32-megapixel front camera. The handset can record videos at resolutions of up to 8K at 30fps.
8,400mAh Battery With 100W Charging
The iQOO 16 packs an 8,400mAh battery. It supports 100W wired fast charging and 40W wireless charging. For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, 4G LTE and Wi-Fi 7. It also gets Bluetooth 5.4, USB Type-C and multiple satellite navigation systems.
The smartphone measures 163.75 x 76.90 x 8.30mm and weighs about 222.5 grams. It runs OriginOS 7 based on Android 17 and includes an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor.
