The new sportbike gets Honda’s E-Clutch system as standard, five riding modes and a 5-inch TFT display.
Honda has unveiled the new CBR500R Four for the European market. The mid-size sportbike features a 502cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four engine that produces 72 hp and 47.4 Nm of torque.
The motorcycle first debuted in China in September 2025 through the Wuyang-Honda joint venture. Honda has not announced plans to launch the CBR500R Four in India. European deliveries are expected to begin in 2027, while both available colour options are priced at GBP 6,999.
Honda CBR500R Four Engine and Performance
The Honda CBR500R Four uses a 502cc, DOHC, 16-valve, inline-four engine. It produces 72 hp at 11,000 rpm and 47.4 Nm of torque at 9,750 rpm. A six-speed gearbox sends power to the rear wheel.
Honda’s E-Clutch technology comes as standard on the motorcycle. It allows riders to start, change gears and stop without manually using the clutch lever. The system also adjusts engine speed during downshifts to help make gear changes smoother.
Among newer sportbikes with engines below 600cc, the CBR500R Four faces rivals such as the Kawasaki ZX-4R and ZXMoto 500RR. Its stated peak power is lower than those of these competitors, according to the provided information.
Honda CBR500R Four E-Clutch Technology
The standard E-Clutch system is one of the motorcycle’s key features. It reduces the need for manual clutch operation during regular riding. Riders can still focus on gear selection while the system manages clutch engagement.

The system also adjusts engine revs during downshifts. This helps make gear changes smoother when slowing down. Honda has included this technology as standard rather than listing it as an optional extra.
Honda CBR500R Four Chassis and Brakes
The motorcycle uses a steel tube diamond frame and an aluminium swingarm. Suspension duties are handled by a 41mm KYB upside-down front fork and a rear monoshock. The rear suspension offers preload adjustment.
Braking comes from twin 296mm front discs with radially mounted Nissin two-piston calipers. A 240mm rear disc uses a single-piston caliper. Dual-channel ABS is standard to help control braking and reduce wheel lock during hard stops.
The CBR500R Four also gets Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres. It uses a 120/70-ZR17 tyre at the front and a 160/60-ZR17 tyre at the rear. The motorcycle has a kerb weight of 189kg, a seat height of 780mm and a 14-litre fuel tank.
Honda CBR500R Four Features and Electronics
Honda has equipped the sportbike with five riding modes. These include Sport, Road and Urban, along with two fully customisable modes. Riders can adjust the custom modes to suit their preferences.
The electronics package also includes a bidirectional quickshifter, traction control and wheelie control. A 5-inch TFT display presents key riding information. The motorcycle uses switchgear shared with other recent Honda models.
Honda CBR500R Four Design and Colours
The CBR500R Four features sharp, sporty bodywork and a new single-piece headlight. Its clip-on handlebars sit above the front fork’s top yoke. This setup places the rider’s hands above the knees, aiming to balance an engaging riding position with comfort.
Honda will offer the motorcycle in two colour options for Europe. Buyers can choose an HRC racing-style livery or a stealthier black finish. Both versions carry a listed price of GBP 6,999, which is around Rs 8.86 lakh.
Honda CBR500R Four India Launch
Honda has not announced an India launch for the CBR500R Four. The motorcycle has been unveiled for Europe, with deliveries expected to begin in 2027. Its Indian availability and pricing remain unconfirmed.
For now, Indian buyers will need to wait for an official announcement from Honda. The company has not provided a confirmed launch timeline or local price for this model.
