Denza is expected to introduce the D9 luxury MPV and Z9 GT electric shooting brake, with estimated prices starting at Rs 85 lakh.

BYD’s luxury electric vehicle brand, Denza, is set to enter the Indian market on November 13, 2026. The brand is expected to introduce premium electric vehicles for buyers seeking luxury, performance and advanced features.

Denza has not confirmed its India launch line-up or prices yet. However, the D9 luxury MPV and Z9 GT shooting brake are expected to be among its first models. The D9 could be the main offering at launch.

Denza D9 Could Lead the India Launch

The Denza D9 is a large, three-row electric MPV designed for buyers seeking a chauffeur-driven luxury vehicle. It could compete with the MG M9 and potentially the Toyota Vellfire in India.

The international version measures 5,250 mm in length and has a 3,110 mm wheelbase. Its seven-seat cabin includes second-row captain’s chairs with powered adjustment, ventilation, heating and massage functions.

Internationally, the electric D9 is available with front-wheel drive (FWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD). The FWD version produces 313 hp and 360 Nm of torque, while the dual-motor AWD version delivers 374 hp and 470 Nm.

The D9 uses a 103.36 kWh Blade battery. Under the WLTP testing cycle, the FWD version has a claimed driving range of up to 520 km. However, Denza has yet to confirm the battery, powertrain and range figures for the Indian model.

The D9 is expected to cost around Rs 85 lakh to Rs 90 lakh, ex-showroom. This estimate remains unconfirmed, and the final price will depend on the specifications offered in India.

Denza Z9 GT to Offer High Performance

The Denza Z9 GT is a more performance-focused electric vehicle. It features a four-door shooting brake design, which combines a sporty roofline with a practical rear section.

In its global-specification tri-motor version, the Z9 GT produces up to 1,156 hp. Denza’s international model is claimed to accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 2.7 seconds.

The Z9 GT also features rear-wheel steering. This system allows the rear wheels to turn and supports special manoeuvres, including crab-walk movement.

The model is expected to sit above the D9 in Denza’s Indian range. Reports suggest a price of around Rs 1.2 crore to Rs 1.5 crore, although official Indian pricing has not been announced.

Denza’s Position in India’s Luxury EV Market

Denza is expected to sit above BYD’s existing passenger vehicle range in India. BYD already sells models such as the Atto 3, Seal and Sealion 7 in the country.

A separate retail experience is reportedly planned for Denza. This could help the brand establish its own identity in India’s premium electric vehicle market.

Both the D9 and Z9 GT are expected to arrive as completely built units (CBUs) initially. This means the vehicles would be imported in fully assembled form rather than manufactured locally.

What Happens Next?

Denza’s India debut is scheduled for November 13, 2026. The launch is expected to provide more clarity on the models, specifications, equipment and prices planned for Indian buyers.

Until the company makes an official announcement, the expected launch line-up and prices should be treated as provisional. The confirmed details will determine how Denza positions its luxury electric vehicles in India.
